This fantastic collection of original Dimanche Derniere Heure magazine photos from the early 1970s through the mid-1980s includes hundreds of individual posed and action shots of Canadiens and Nordiques players and various other stars from around the NHL. In addition to the hockey pictures, this lot of more than 750 photos include stars from a variety of sports, including members of the Montreal Expos and a variety of other baseball stars, members of the CFL's Montreal Alouettes and the NASL's Montreal Manic, as well as boxers and race car drivers. A classic shot of Mike Bossy and Maurice Richard shows the only two players at the time to score 50 goals in 50 games. A "Now and Then" series of the Canadiens' stars of the 1950s features individual shots of Plante, Blake, Lach, Beliveau, Curry, Butch Bouchard, Johnson, Geoffrion, Maurice and Henri Richard, Moore, Provost andTalbot with a current photos of them from 1978, along with a David Bier shot of them on the reverse from their playing days. Canadiens photos from the early 1970s feature posed shots of Beliveau as a team executive and coach Scotty Bowman, along with Dryden, Thomas, Plasse, Richard, Cournoyer, Frank and Pete Mahovlich, Lemaire, Lafleur, Shutt, Tardif, Laperriere, Savard, Lapointe, Robinson, Larose, Houle, Lefley, Wilson, Arnason, Roberts, Murdoch, Bouchard and Hoganson. Habs action photos from the mid 1970s feature Shutt, Frank and Pete Mahovlich, Savard, Laperriere, Roberts, Thomas, Gainey, Wilson, Bouchard, Lafleur, Cournoyer, Lefley, Lapointe, Richard, Plasse, Lemaire and Lambert. Another Habs set from the early 1980s has posed shots of Lafleur, Shutt, Gainey, Robinson, Savard, Lapointe, Napier, Risebrough, Tremblay, Jarvis, Acton, Mondou, Nilan, Engblom, Langway, Gingras, Larocque, Herron and Sevigny, followed by action shots of Lafleur, Tremblay, Naslund, Wamsley, Robinson, Nilan, Delorme, Mondou, Shutt and Root. Also included is a great 1984 reunion shot of Blake and the 12 winners of five straight Cups in 1950s - Provost, Talbot, Plante, Maurice Richard, Johnson, Beliveau, Geoffrion, Turner, Henri Richard, Moore, Marshall and Harvey. A variety of Nordiques photos are featured, including late 1970s WHA photos. Visiting stars include Gretzky, Bossy, Dionne, Denis Savard, Potvin, Parent, Perreault, Bourque, Richard Martin, Larouche, Pronovost, and Vachon, to name just a few. John Boccabella and Boots Day conjure up pleasant memories of the carefree days of Parc Jarry and they are featured here along with other Montreal Expos such as Rusty Staub, Bill Stoneman, Coco Laboy, Ron Hunt, Bobby Wine, Ron Fairly, Bob Bailey, Mike Marshall, Ken Singleton, Tim Foli, Mike Torrez, Steve Rogers, Willie Davis, Gary Carter, Tony Perez, Andre Dawson, Tim Raines, Tim Wallach, Chris Speier, Larry Parrish, Woodie Fryman, Bill Gullickson, Scott Sanderson, Ellis Valentine, Ray Burris, Charlie Lea, Bill Lee, Jeff Reardon, Al Oliver, Terry Francona and Bob James, and managers Gene Mauch, Dick Williams, Jim Fanning and Bill Virdon. The late Roberto Clemente is memorialized in a set of visiting stars from 1973 that also includes Willie Stargell, Hank Aaron, Johnny Bench, Bob Gibson, Steve Carlton, Ferguson Jenkins, Willie McCovey, Willie Davis, Larry Bowa and Pete Rose. More than 50 Alouettes photos are included along with shots of members of the Montreal Manic. A great shot of Leonard and Duran posed in a faceoff is a highlight of the boxing photos, along with a vintage shot of the entire Fighting Hiltons clan. Two different Gilles Villeneuve poses are included among the 16 race car driver shots, and a pair of Giant Jean Ferre photos are among the 57 wrestling posters.
