Ancient 16mm reels hold celluloid film taken during game action back in the Original Six era. The first, in its original canister from Chetwynd Films of Toronto contains 37.5 minutes of highlight footage from the 1964 Stanley Cup Finals, as is claimed on the paper label. The final series was played from April 11 to April 25, 1964 between the defending champion Toronto Maple Leafs and the Detroit Red Wings, for the second straight year. The Leafs would win the best-of-seven series 43 to win the Stanley Cup, their third straight. Best is the second roll of film, with footage taken during Bobby Orrs very first game at Boston Garden at the start of the 1966-67 season. Bobby would rewrite the game, winning nearly every award (but the Vezina!) over the next decade. Grab an old projector and be witness to hockey history!
