A complete set of 120 plastic Shirriff/Salada NHL player coins from the early 1960s is a standout in this massive collection of hockey cards and premium photos spanning the history of the hobby. The Original Six set of Shirriff/Salada plastic coins from 1961-62 is in excellent condition. The consignor's personal collection features cards from the early days, including three 1911-12 Imperial Tobacco cards graded poor to fair. Opee Chee cards from the 1930s include five Series A cards from 1933-34 in VG condition, except for a fair Bill Cook, three Series B 1934-35 cards in good to very good condition, and 20 Series E cards from 1937-38 ranging from fair to very good. There are 29 cards from 1939-40 in good to very good condition, with back damage on about 20 percent. There is glue residue/paper loss on the reverse of 17 poor to fair Ice King cards from 1933-34, and 28 fair to good 1933-34 Canadian Chewing Gum cards have exhibit tape marks/glue residue. A total of 14 Worldwide Gum cards from 1936-37 are fair to very good. Quaker Oats premium photos from 1945 to 1954 include 43 Maple Leafs and 47 Canadiens in VG/EX, with a few of lower grade. Quebec cards from 1952-53 include 17 Bas du Fleuve cards in good condition and 61 St. Lawrence Sales cards in VG condition (except for Quebec Aces cards that have had typed nametags pasted on the bottom front). Parkhurst cards include 98 of the 105-card 1952-53 set rated VG to VG/EX, including Geoffrion, Harvey, Stanley, Kennedy, Armstrong, Delvecchio, Kelly and Lindsay. (The seven missing cards are Nos. 1, 10, 22, 58, 59, 86 and 88.) 1954-55 10 cards (VG), 1955-56 Parkhurst Oldtime Greats Maple Leafs 15 cards, Canadiens 14 (G to VG) plus two cards from 1955-56 regular issue, 1957-58 4 cards (VG/EX), 1958-59 49 cards – a nearly complete set with only No. 22 Plante and No. 38 Maurice Richard missing –average VG with No. 2 Henri Richard (fair to good), No. 34 Beliveau (fair to good), No. 42 Horton (G/VG) and No. 46 Bower (Good), 1959-60 21 cards (VG), 1960-61 8 cards (VG/EX), 1961-62 33 cards (good to VG), 1962-63 3 cards (VG) and 1963-64 2 cards (VG/EX). Topps cards from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s include 65 cards from the 1958-59 set that is missing only the No. 66 Bobby Hull rookie card. The No. 8 Gordie Howe card has a large side-to-side crease through the middle, otherwise the near-complete set is in VG to VG/EX condition. Among the rest of the collection are 101 Bee Hive photos from 1934 to 1967, most with the backing colored and glued to larger cardboard; 18 Diamond matchbooks from 1936-39, all glued on cardboard; 42 Canada Starch Crown Brand from 1935-1940, all with the backing cut and colored; From 1951-52 3 Bas du Fleuve cards, 11 Lac St-Jean cards and 107 Laval Dairy QHL (missing Plante and Beliveau), all glued on hand colored cardboard; 24 Coca-cola cards 1965-66, glued on color cardboard; Parkhurst sets include 42 from 1951-52 glued on colored cardboard backing, and 81 cards from 1953-54 that exhibit glue residue (The 19 cards missing are Nos. 1, 11, 13, 24, 26-30, 38, 40, 46, 47, 50, 52, 53, 57, 64 and 92). Common Opee Chee cards include 1968-69 (48), 1969-70 (19), 1970-71 (56), 1971-72 (29), 1972-73 (45), 1972-73 Team Canada (23), 1973-74 (9), 1974-75 (166), 1974-75 WHA (58), 1975-76 (64), 1975-76 WHA (71), 1976-77 (38), 1976-77 WHA (56), 1977-78 (66), 1977-78 WHA (41), 1978-79 (66), 1979-80 (47), 1980-81 (42), 1981-82 (47), 1982-83 (8), 1983-84 (40), 1984-85 (5), 1985-86 (8), 1986-87 (11), 1987-88 (3), 1988-89 (3), 1989-90 (3), 1990-91 (500+) and 1990-91 Premier 132-card set. 265 random Quebec Nordiques cards round out the collection, mainly Opee Chee cards from 1972-73 to 1994-95, including 43 WHA cards.
