Four Hall-of-Famers have applied black sharpie autographs to this magnificent early-1950s trapper. Black Hawks legend Tony Esposito has signed HOF 88 35 on the leather palm. Flyers great Bernie Parent has added #1 to his autograph on the back of its thumb. Billy Smith, who backstopped the Islanders to four straight Stanley Cups, has signed on the front of the cuff. Emile Francis has signed H.O.F. 1982 beside Espositos autograph. Inducted to the Hall as a builder for his coaching and front office work with the Rangers, Blues and Whalers, Francis had a hand in developing the modern goalies catching glove. A baseball enthusiast, Francis added a cuff to a first basemans glove. The experiment was soon adopted as standard equipment. The evidence is here in this vintage brown leather glove that features black trim and a Gerry Cosby Athletic Outfitters tag.
