Terrific old wool sweater was uncovered in the Sherbrooke, Quebec region, with the gentleman it was obtained from alleging that is was worn by one-time Montreal Canadien and longtime Sherbrooker Gilles Dub? We cannot confirm that or that it is indeed a Sherbrooke Castors uniform (Castors is French for Beavers), but we can tell you that its a marvelous old wool, with tie-neck front and zigzag stitching in the thick blue-on-red felt number 9 on the back, which has become slightly detached (two inches along the top). Theres wear/cracking to the crest sewn on the front with numerous team repairs; we count nine on the front, 16 mostly dime-size repairs on the sleeves and four similar ones on the back. Two pea-size holes on the front went unrepaired. Double-weight elbows and shoulders, along with thick, intact cuffs are also to mention. Approximate size is 42. Showing good use but in excellent condition, youll love the feel of it when it arrives in the mail!
