Lovely 100+ year old antique plate features the man who donated hockeys Stanley Cup while Canadas Governor General and who returned home in July of 1893 to become the Sixteenth Earl of Derby following the death of his brother. Stanley later acted as Mayor of Preston in 1902, with this commemorative plate dated September 1902 and featuring a reddish image of Guild Hall. Earl Derby K.G. Guild Mayor is beneath Stanleys image and the 9 1/2 in diameter plate is in excellent, chip-free condition. Stanley would die six years later at age 67.
