Scarce, one-of-a-kind items related to the man who donated the trophy presented annually to recognize hockey supremacy. Frederick Arthur Stanley, Lord Stanley of Preston, the 16th Earl of Derby is to hockey fans as Tim Horton is to coffee drinkers. Offered here are seven seldom-seen items of Lord Stanley memorabilia: 1) Large bronze medallion with the raised images of Lord and Lady Stanley, from the 1902 Preston Guild. 2) Two vintage 1900s Lord Derby military cap badges in cast metal. 3) 1902 Preston Guild token with image of Stanley as Guild Mayor, drilled hole at top. 4) Star-shaped medal dated September 1902 with image of Stanley as Preston Guild Mayor. 5) Smaller silver-tone medal with the raised images of Lord and Lady Stanley, 1902. 6) 1902 photo book entitled Souvenir of Preston Guild with a nice early photo of Lord Mayor Derby and Lady Derby inside. Overall, in near excellent condition. An extremely rare grouping.
