Artist Krazy Kathy fashioned the patriotic paint job on this striking mask & cage combo for netminder Ray LeBlanc while he was with the US Men's National Hockey Team in 1991-92. Ray played in 17 matches preparing for the 1992 Winter Olympics. Obvious game wear inside and out with paint chips at the chin and all interior padding intact. Red, white and blue paint job features the Team USA logo at the forehead with eagles on each side. Makers decal inside says this is a BSM II model mask and the date reads 20 02 1992. At the 1992 Winter Olympics, LeBlanc appeared in all eight games for the United States, compiling a record of 521 with two shutouts. The Americans finished out of the medals, however, as they lost 61 to Czechoslovakia in the bronze medal game. [red] It was brought to our attention that Ray Leblanc wore this goalie mask in 1992 for Team USA right up to the Olympics, he signed a special deal with Itech in 1992 to wear their mask during the Olympics.
