This original 1970s Canada world championships jersey was given to Czechoslovakian hockey great Ivan Hlinka. Marcel Dionne wore No. 17 during the 1979 tournament since his familiar No. 16 was claimed by Detroit's Paul Woods. The white mesh jersey's fly tag in the neck is completely washed out. The numbers, stylized Maple Leaf logo and "CANADA" on both arms are screened on, along with a red SK logo on the front left hem. The jersey exhibits nice wear, with one cuff folded up and stitched in place. The surname lettering on the back is a bit of a mystery. What appear to be the original heat pressed letters seem to have been cut out of what was likely originally a fabric nameplate. These individual letters have been crudely stitched back directly onto the jersey, which comes along with a letter of authenticity from Hlinka's son.
