Marvellous collection of international medals, won by members of the Johnson family, a famous English hockey clan. The father, Peter Johnson, was a player and coach whose three sons, Stephen, Anthony and Shaun, all played hockey for Great Britain. Huge hoard of hockey awards and medals from across the pond includes: 1) Five European Junior Championship medals: 1982 bronze, 1985 bronze, 1990 bronze, 1983 silver and 1984 silver. 2) Five World Junior Championship medals: three 1986 bronze examples and two 1987 bronze pieces. 3) Seven World Championship Division II medals: three gold medals as won by the brothers playing for Great Britain from 1990 Worlds, three gold medals for their win at the 1992 and a gold medal for Britains first place finish in the B Pool in 1993. The remaining fourteen medals in this collection include awards presented at the Baden PeeWee Tournament, the Heineken British Tournament, the Castle Eden Cup, the Durham Cathedral Trophy Cup, the Norwich Union Cup Final, the Heineken Premier League Championship, the Ville de Liege World Junior Championships, the Scotland vs. England Home International and more. The majority of the World and European Championship medals still have their presentation ribbons. In terms of condition, the collection is strong with some finish loss found on a number of the gold medals in the grouping. As a bonus, we are including a beautiful china dinner plate, probably awarded to Peter, from the 1971 World Hockey Championships held in Holland.
