Czech defenceman Frantisek Prochazka wore the colors of his country at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville and also at the World Ice Hockey Championships in 1989 and again in 1990 where his team medaled in both the European and World Championships. The 1989 Worlds, held in Stockholm, Sweden, saw a third place finish for the Czech National Team and Frantisek received this hefty solid bronze medal from the IIHF for his efforts and contribution. The medal, missing its original ribbon, sports the enamelled IIHF logo on the reverse with World Championships ringing a hockey scene carved on the front. The bronze loop at the top holds the year 1989. Two nearly identical medals are also here, one from the 1990 European Championships and a matching award from the Worlds tournament held the same year in Berne, Switzerland. Again, the Czech team skated to a third place, bronze medal finish in each event and, again, Frantisek Prochazka received medals from the sponsoring organization for the victories. Similar in description to the 1989 medal, each hangs from the original ribbon in blue and yellow. All three are in excellent condition.
