Hi Ho Silver, and Away! An astonishing find in John Davidsons game worn fiberglass goalie mask worn while with the New York Rangers over the 1979-80 and 1980-81 seasons. Davidson is a household name in hockey circles and is currently the president of hockey operations of the St. Louis Blues and a former goaltender for the NHLs Blues (197375) and Rangers (197583). He is also well-known as a long-time hockey broadcaster. The hand-painted mask, fashioned and brushed by famed pro mask maker Greg Harrison, features the red, white and blue color scheme of the Rangers with a Lone Ranger motif: blue mask over the eyes, cowboy hats at the temples and red sheriffs star over the nose and mouth. Each side sports a colorful Rangers shield logo and a brown and grey rifle bullet runs down the forehead. The mask shows up in numerous game action photos of Davidson tending net during the period and we will include a few shots in digital format that show him wearing this exact mask in two versions, with white cowboy hats and then later with the Stetsons filled in with blue paint. Wondrous game wear includes dozens of stick and puck marks, scuffing and chips and wear in the paint. Complete with original snaps and sparse interior padding. These vintage game worn masks are highly collectible and have been commanding huge prices at auction. This one will come with a letter of the authenticity.
