Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1967, Harry Oliver won the Stanley Cup with Boston in 1929, the Bruins’ first championship. He spent eight seasons with Boston before he was traded to the New York Americans in 1934, where he remained until retiring following the 1936-37 season. Oliver, who died in 1985, has indicated that he signed this outstanding portrait of himself by Carleton “Mac” McDiarmid in Winnipeg on June 29, 1977. He has personalized his signature, “Good luck and best wishes to Mac. Sincerely, Harry Oliver,” on this original painting done on 15 ½” x 13” professional illustration board. Presented in grey matte, it is tastefully framed in a 20” x 16” silver-colored metal frame.
