The 2009 Montreal Centennial Auction

The Montreal Canadiens dominated over the second half of the Sixties decade, taking four of five Cup wins from 1965 through 1969. This wonderful wool uniform hales from that period and has been attributed to Ted Harris, a long-time NHLer who spent six seasons in Montreal between 1963 and 1970. The thick and weighty wool sweater sports a tri-tone tackle twill crest on the chest with cream and blue tackle twill number 10 sewn on each arm and again on the back. This vintage three-eyelet tie-neck style shows nice game wear with loads of pilling, inside and out, and four wool-darned team repairs. A vintage garter-style fight strap has been sewn into the tail, and although this is a common trait among Seventies-era shirts, it is quite a rare find on a wool sweater. Your chance to complete an Original Six wool collection, or get one off to a great start! Comes with a letter of authenticity.
