Oh my! Absolutely delectable offering here was donned by the most electrifying player of the 1970s, at a time when he and his teammates were priming, stringing together a run of four Stanley Cup titles. Montreal's beloved "Flower", Guy Lafleur, had just completed another awesome regular season, winning his third consecutive scoring title while scoring a career-high 60 goals (to make it four straight 50-or-more-goal seasons), when he pulled on this stretchy knit Wilson jersey to begin another memorable playoff march, in the spring of 1978. The Canadiens took out the Red Wings in five quarter-final games, swept the Maple Leafs in four and then faced the Bruins in a rematch of the '77 finals. After Boston had evened the series at two games apiece with two home ice wins, the Habs took games five and six by 4-1 scores to capture their third consecutive Cup. Lafleur's 21 playoff points (10G, 11A) equaled the total of Larry Robinson, who got the nod as playoff MVP and Conn Smythe Trophy winner. Lafleur's home white Canadiens jersey features a size 44 Wilson tag in the neck, along with a chain-stitched "78" tag in the front right hem. Game use is considerable. Some 20 black stick marks are scattered across the front, where one small team repair appears. Another repair is on the left sleeve, along with scrapes and a couple of small burns. The right sleeve includes numerous black marks and general filth, red board paint (at the elbow and up near the "10"), three dime-size circular team repairs and a repair that partially covers a red board burn. It is this latter repair/burn that shows up in our video match. One tiny stitch job on the back is joined by Guy's famous number "10" in blue-on-red tackle twill and "Lafleur" stitched across the nameplate. Nice interior pilling and a classic blue-striped piece of an old garter belt as a fight strap are also to note. From a fantastic time in Canadiens' history and worn by one of the franchise's most idolized torch bearers, this jersey will be one of the cornerstones of your Lafleur/Canadiens/game worn jersey collection. Simply smashing! Please note that this item is subject to a silent reserve. It will come with a letter of authenticity.
