Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/18/2019
One of the more collected modern O-Pee-Chee sets due to the inclusion of the highly desirable rookie card of Mario Lemieux, we have an unopened wax box of 1985-86 O-Pee-Chee hockey cards, with this attractive example certified by BBCE. Issued in 7-card packs plus a sticker insert with a 48-pack count, 336 possibly high-grade cards await, including the aforementioned rookie of HOFer Mario Lemieux. Examples for Wayne Gretzky are also possible, as well as the rookie card of Al McInnis and a memorial card for Pele Lindbergh. The original purchase price was .35 cents for each pack despite a reduced card-per-pack total from the previous year. A single piece of clear tape over the lid is visible, with the desirable box shrink-wrapped with BBCE’s sticker (A4352) and label affixed to the underside.
Mentioned strictly for accuracy, the box exhibits just light handling wear including a couple dinged bottom corners along with a few small creases just above the bottom right corner, with a bit of wear to the “Hockey” text on the right side.
