Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
A 5-time All-Star and 3-time National League batting champion, Larry Walker spent 17 years in the majors, shared chiefly amongst Montreal and Colorado, with his final two seasons spent in St. Louis with the Cardinals. We have a great little trio of Larry Walker items, including his game-worn Colorado Rockies jersey from 2002, a circa-2001 game-worn BP jacket and game-used bat. We should note that the possibility exists of the bat being used while Walker was with the Montreal Expos, from 1989-1994. LOAs for both the jersey and jacket will accompany.
The breakdown for each of the offered items is as follows: 1) Larry Walker’s 2002 Colorado Rockies game-worn alternate jersey. Russell labeling resides along the lower front tail with “Walker-50-33” and 2” extra length front and sleeve tags. Featuring “Colorado” across the chest in textured tackle twill, the purple button-up includes an alternate crest over the left sleeve and ten year anniversary patch over the right. Nice game-wear is present, with no unsightly marks. 2) Larry Walker’s game-used bat. At just over 34” in length, the Rawlings Big Stick features “Larry Walker” in block letters, with “33” handwritten along the top of the hollowed-out barrel. “33” has also been handwritten in silver along the knob, with the model number “431B” stamped-on. Nice use is exhibited on the lumber, with a V-shaped crack just above the handle. 3) Larry Walker’s circa-2001 Colorado Rockies game-worn jacket. Solid black with grey sleeves, labeling from Majestic is affixed to the collar, with handwritten “33”. Featuring the “CR” monogram over the left breast in textured tackle twill, the pull-over remains clean with no unsightly wear or damage.
