This dazzling Lanny McDonald 1989 Calgary Flames Stanley Cup Champions 10K gold ring is a spectacular salesman's sample. This magnificent bauble, which was obtained from a different source than Lanny McDonald and is not from his personal collection, was made up back in the day to commemorate the 1988-89 Flames' championship, which included a tight seven-game win over Vancouver in the first round, followed by a four-game sweep of L.A. and a five-game win over Chicago in the Western Conference final leading up to Calgary's satisfying six-game win over Montreal, which avenged the Flames' loss to the Habs in the 1986 final. A gold rendition of the the team's flaming C crest sits in the middle of the tableau, surrounded by sparkling cubic zirconias with "Stanley Cup 1989 Champions" in raised gold around the bezel. "McDonald" is spelled out in raised gold above an image of the Stanley Cup with Lanny's number "9" at the bottom on the left shank. The right shank displays "Flames" above the President's Trophy and the NHL shield. "Balfour 10K" is stamped inside the size 11 1/2 band. The ring is in beautiful condition overall with surface scratches. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
