Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/19/2018
An officer in the Order of Canada, a Member of Parliament and an inductee in the Hockey Hall of Fame, Ken Dryden has pretty much done it all, and he is still recognized as one of the greatest goaltenders in the history of the NHL. We have a stick used by the icon, circa 1971-72, a Calder Cup winning season. A preferred Sher-Wood model, “Dryden” and “29” appear stamped onto the upper shaft with both original striping stickers in place, with the original tape in situ on both the blade and knob. Good use is definitely showing, with wear to the taped section of blade, along with a repair near the tip where the stick was once cracked but has been glued. Dryden sticks are always heavily sought-after, with this example one of the nicer specimens we’ve handled.
