From Josef Cerny's personal collection comes this sensational pair of IIHF world championship silver medals. Cerny helped guide Czechoslovakia to silver twice, in Finland in 1965 and Switzerland in 1971, as the communist powerhouse finished second only to their bitter rivals, the Soviets, in both editions of the worlds. Comes with Josef Cerny's signed LOA. Both IIHF silver medals feature the respective championship year and the maker's "Huguenin" name stamped beneath his raised image of a cap-wearing goalie on the face, and the federation’s French LIHG (Ligue Internationale de Hockey sur Glace) logo on the reverse. The 1971 medal measures 2 3/8” in diameter while the 1965 medal is a shade smaller.
