A member of five Stanley Cup champions with the Montreal Canadiens, rugged left wing John Ferguson packed a lot of success into his eight-year NHL career. Ferguson clearly wore this remarkable Stanley Cup tribute gold ring with pride as evidenced by its well-worn appearance. Size 13 ½ with a weight of 24 grams, a raised miniature gold Cup is featured on the white gold tableau in which 22 zirconias are set. "Montreal" is above and "Canadiens" below while 4 zirconias are at each side. The ring's left shank has a banner with "FERGUSON" engraved on it. The original red enameling has worn off the "CH" logo beneath it in raised gold and Ferguson's #22 is engraved on another banner at the bottom of the shank. The right shank displays a banner with "Coupe Stanley Cup Champions" in raised letters. Another banner beneath it has each of Ferguson's eight years with the Canadiens engraved on it, with a rendition of the facade of the old Forum beneath it in raised gold. "Jostens" and "10K" are stamped inside the band, with an LOA from the Ferguson family to accompany.
As mentioned, the ring shows considerable wear from being worn, with numerous areas along the shanks and edges worn down, with scratches present throughout the outer band. There also appears to be residue in some small areas including the left shank.
