Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Behind the plate for David Cone's perfect game in 1999, Joe Girardi is a four-time World Series champion, catching for five different MLB clubs throughout his career, and later served as both coach (Yankees 2005) and manager (Marlins, Yankees and Phillies). From his time as the Yankees’ skipper in 2014, we have a jersey, pants and cap worn by Girardi in his capacity as team manager. Produced by Majestic with labeling and “48” sizing on the front tail just above an added team bar code, the famous NY monogram is sewn to the left breast in single navy twill, with “28” over the verso in matching material. The New Era cap has a Derek Jeter final season patch on the left side, with a 7 3/8 size tag within the inner band and “28” handwritten on the underside of the bill. The pants sport a majestic label with “28 Girardi” printed. There are Steiner and MLB holograms affixed to each item, with these matching the accompanying LOAs (two documents for each item).
