Featuring the 1959-60 Detroit Red Wings, we have a pair of team-signed items, including a desirable game-used stick wielded by Jim Morrison, along with a Red Wings program. The stick is a Northland Pro model, with “Godfrey” stamped onto the shaft and crossed out, and “Morrison” and “2” handwritten, with the original tape on the blade and handle intact. Stamps from supplier Olympic are also present, with 17 signing the shaft in ballpoint including HOFers Howe, Sawchuk, Ullman, Delvecchio, Pronovost and Red Kelly. The program is roughly 6” x 9 ½” and it features Pete Goegan on the cover, with 17 signing including Howe, Ullman, Delvecchio, Lefty Wilson and others.
The stick shows nice use with considerable wear to the blade and lower shaft, including a large crack midway down. The thin signatures all remain fairly bold but have blended into the background somewhat, while the signatures on the program sport examples with smudging and fading, with what appears to be light water staining at the top left corner. The program itself is in lower grade, with heavy creasing and toning along with a small edge tear to the cover. Others who have signed the stick include Oliver, Morrison, Lunde, Melnyk, McIntyre, Godfrey, Cullen, Fonteyne, Marcon and others. Additional signatures on the program include Oliver, Morrison, Lunde, Melnyk, Godfrey, Cullen, Fonteyne, Goegan, Haley, Haddon and others.
