Jarkko Ruutu brought a fierce edge to the Pittsburgh Penguins during the 2007-08 season,
becoming a key figure in the team’s run to the Stanley Cup Final. Known for his aggressive
forechecking and ability to frustrate opponents, Ruutu was a vital presence on the Penguins’
penalty kill and a trusted depth forward in high-stakes playoff moments. His fearless play made
him a fan favorite and a valuable piece of the team’s postseason success. The 2007-08 season
was a defining moment for the Penguins, as they reached the Stanley Cup Final for the first time
since 1992, with Ruutu’s gritty contributions helping set the tone for the team’s resurgence.
This size 56 jersey, manufactured by Reebok, features the NHL crest on the front neckline and
the Reebok crest on the back of the neckline. A Winter Classic patch is sewn onto the right
breast, and a Winter Classic team patch with the equipment manager’s name is affixed
at the hem inside the jersey. A MeiGray patch numbered "E05866" is also found inside with the MeiGray population report stating that the jersey is a "Blue Throwback - Winter Classic 1/1/08 (Period 2) - Worn During The 2nd Period Of The Winter Classic On 1/1/08" example. The jersey’s number “37” appears in white over navy tackle twill on both arms and the back, with “RUUTU” in matching style on the baby blue nameplate. A securely affixed fight strap is located at the back.
The jersey exhibits light but noticeable game wear including a series of marks below the left sleeve numbers. It comes with a MeiGray LOA.
