HOFers Jacques Plante, Frank Selke Sr. and Clarence Campbell all signed Jake the Snake's Montreal Canadiens contract from their historic 1959-60 NHL season. Plante won his fifth consecutive Vezina Trophy after becoming the first goalie to regularly wear a mask during the regular season. He went on to backstop the Habs to eight straight playoff wins, including his third shutout in a 4-0 win in Toronto on April 14, 1960 as Montreal clinched its record fifth Stanley Cup in a row. The Club de Hockey Canadien Inc.'s 1959-60 contract called for a season salary of $17,000, plus a total of $1,000 in bonuses which Jacques collected for the Habs' first place finish and their first-round win over Chicago, a four-game sweep of Chicago that saw Plante shut out the Bobby Hull's Black Hawks in each of the last two games at Chicago Stadium. Awesome Selke and Plante blue ballpoint signatures at the bottom of the 17" x 8 1/2" NHL Standard Player's Contract with league president Campbell's blue fountain pen ink signature below the "Oct 6 '59" central registry stamp. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA.
