Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Three autographed Eric Lindros pieces are among the highlights here, with our favorite being a dandy 5” by 7” glossy photo of a young Eric in his St. Mike’s uniform and signed nicely in black ink. A silver ink Lindros autograph is on an otherwise blank puck, while an 11” by 14” action photo of the big guy in a Team Canada uniform (World Cup) features a black marker signature. He’s also featured in a 1990 7th Inning Sketch Memorial Cup Set (sealed), an ’89-90 Oshawa General team set and a ’91-92 Classic Draft Picks set (sealed). Before we get to Bo, we’ll stick with hockey and a few notable rookie cards. Three have been graded by KSA; ‘81-82 OPC Jari Kurri (EX 5), ’83-84 OPC Bernie Nicholls (NMM+ 8.5) and ’89-90 OPC Joe Sakic (Mint 9). Raw rookies of all three are also present, with the Kurri being a Topps. Other Topps RCs include ’84-85 Yzerman (VG), while OPC entries are RCs of Fuhr, Hawerchuk, Lafontaine and Clark (all VG to VG-EX). Our consignor was a Norm Ullman fan, with (14) vintage cards spanning three decades and highlighted by ’59-60 Topps (VG) and ’63-63 Parkhurst (EX) examples, with nothing high grade among the rest. An “Ullmann” Colgate “head” is also present. As for Bo Jackson, a couple of 1988 Topps (football) RCs, other football and baseball cards and half a dozen publications picturing the two-sport star on the covers (Beckett, Tuff Stuff), are mostly housed in a Bo binder. The lot is rounded out by a box of McDonald’s collectibles, including five Team Canada-related pucks with a stand, a set of six mini trophies, six sealed mini jerseys with stands, a couple of mini goalie sticks (Brodeur, Fleury) and an Amonte Muppets doll. Oversized Canadian Olympic hockey cards and album, also still sealed and looking complete, really completes the big varied stash.
