Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Sporting his best career numbers which included scoring 92 points during the regular-season along with an additional 27 added in the postseason – enough to serve as the top playoff scorer, Henrik Zetterberg earned the Conn Smythe trophy for his performance during the Detroit Red Wings 2008 Stanley Cup championship. Hailing from the memorable season, we have photo-matched pants worn by Zetterberg along with a game-used skate display – with the skate attributed to the finals, accompanied by signed photo-matched gloves worn in 2010-11. First, the gloves are Easton models in solid red with “Zetterberg” embroidered to each along with handwritten “II”, with the pair signed over the thumb protectors. The pants are also Easton models with “Zetterberg” and Red Wings and NHL crests embroidered, while the single left skate has been signed in black marker and mounted within a shadow box display with added photos and engraved plaque. Team COAs will accompany each item, with a 2008 Red Wings cap and Stanley Cup patch included.
The gloves show moderate use with wear to each palm, with heavy pilling and red colour transfer to the right palm. Getty Image #107249745 (Nov 30, 2010) has been matched to the handwritten "II" on the left glove, with the exact shape and placement matching, with the image also showing the white mark on the right glove as well (the hologram has fallen off, and is now with the COA). The pants show nice use marks and wear to the material, with the top of the front section torn away. Getty Image #80495872 (April 2, 2008 – regular season) has been matched to the wear pattern/marks on the left leg including specific marks in the vertical white striping. Lastly, the skate display is 19” x 42” (no glass) with laser copy photos, with the Easton Synergy model skate showing light wear with "SCF 08" handwritten to the interior, with the padding to a customization removed (a similar customization on his skate is visible in Getty Images #81515252, #81319198, #81515248 – and we should also note that he did wear skates with this customization during the regular season as well). Zetterberg has signed the skate in black marker, with a hologram added to the blade holder. While the display does show some wear and scratches, the skate is removable and can be shipped without the frame if so desired by the winning bidder.
