Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Nicknamed The Pocket Rocket in reference to his older and much more famous brother’s moniker, Henri Richard would exceed the Rocket in success, with his 11 Stanley Cup championships won as a player unmatched. This lot features a hockey glove shadow box display signed by the 1979 HOF inductee, accompanied by a signed Canadiens captain's jersey. At approx 24” x 43”, a generic CCM glove has been inserted above along with a full newspaper from 1955 below that proclaims Henri’s first NHL goal, on Oct 15, 1955, with a small plaque listing the particulars and a pair of Habs pins added between the items. Richard has signed the glove in black marker with the signature displaying beautifully, with toning to the newspaper and just light wear to the shadow box itself. The jersey is a CCM model with tackle twill team crest and numbers, signed in marker on the reverse "1" (moderate bleeding), with a COA to accompany for the jersey.
