Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2015

Long a 2-way star in the NHL with the Habs, Blues, and Stars, Guy Carbonneau would retire after the 1999-00 season, and after apprenticing as an assistant coach for a few years in Montreal, would ultimately find himself as bench boss with the Canadiens beginning in 2006-07. From Carbonneau’s personal collection is the award given to him by the team in honor of his first-ever NHL win on Oct. 7, 2006 when the Habs beat the Leafs 3-2 in Toronto. With a black plastic base and glass fixture standing 6” high overall, and with an official Leafs puck (now unglued), this cool award given to Guy, who signed the bottom in clear slver marker, includes an attached plate with the details inscribed. Comes with an LOA from Carbonneau.
The award remains in excellent condition, although, as mentioned, the puck has become unglued at the top. A touch of wear shows on the inscribed plaque, with the word “1ere” slightly faded but still perfectly legible.
