Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2014
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/25/2014
The Montreal Canadiens' 1944-45 season was the greatest one in team history that was not capped by a Stanley Cup. Maurice "Rocket" Richard scored 50 goals in 50 games and the Habs finished first with 80 points behind an incredible 38-8-4 regular season mark. Fabulous set of six sterling silver coasters was presented to HOF defenceman Butch Bouchard, who helped lead Montreal through a stretch that saw the Habs lose just one of 28 games while going 24-1-3 from the beginning of December 1944 to early March 1945. "Champions NHL 1944-1945" is engraved on the face of all six coasters, which measure 3" in diameter. Two hallmarks surround the "Sterling" stamp on the reverse of each wonderfully-preserved coaster commemorating an amazing Habs season. Comes with Butch Bouchard's signed LOA.
