A member of the NHL’s All-Rookie Team in 1991, netminder Ed Belfour also secured the Calder, Vezina and William Jennings Trophies all within his very first season. The HOFer also made six All-Star Game appearances, from 1992 to 2003. Hailing from his final season in Texas with the Stars in 2001-02, we have the last mask worn by Belfour while with Dallas, with this example photo-matched. Ed’s wonderfully executed trademark eagles grace each side, with his customary “Make-a-Wish Foundation” design over the chin section. The back plate has additional custom graphics showcasing a 1941 Willys advertising Ed’s racing company, named after his Carman Manitoba hometown. The interior padding is present and accounted for including added velcro for the cloth forehead accessory, with dual-colour strapping to coincide with the placement of the custom graphics. A signed LOA from Ed Belfour will accompany this gorgeous mask.
A decal from the maker Warwick remains affixed to the interior, with additional handwritten information behind the chin section and near the left ear. Light wear is exhibited on the headgear, with extremely bright and vibrant polychrome detailing. A few marks and abrasions are present, with chips to the finish near each ear section, with a bit of crazing to the surface at the top bolt on the left side of the cage. We should also note that the interior padding over the back plate has come loose, but remains attached and is quite sticky. Photo-matched to Getty Images from March and April of 2002 including a picture from April 8th 2002, his second to last ever game with the Stars, Getty Images #684298 (March 16th) and #550698 (March 18th) have both been matched to the chip in the paint on the lower right ear side, and to the small black marks above it. Getty Image #53121523 from April 2nd has been matched to the chip on the lower left ear side, while Getty Image #844348 from April 8th has been matched to the chip on the lower left ear side, and to the small black mark over the chin. The helmet will be also accompanied by a solid black carrying/storage bag.
