Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/9/2016
Eddie the Eagle soared as the NHL’s top goalie in 1992-93 as proclaimed by the bible of hockey, the Hockey News. HOF goalie Ed Belfour had a sensational season after leading the Blackhawks to the Stanley Cup final the previous spring, going 41-18-11 in 71 games with a league-leading seven shutouts to go along with his 2.59 goals-against-average, second only to Toronto’s Felix Potvin, and .906 save percentage, third behind Potvin and league leader Curtis Joseph. Eddie’s headshot is featured on the silver colored The Hockey News Upper Deck NHL Goalie of the Year plaque with his name, team and season at the bottom, mounted under clear plastic on a 12x9 wood plaque. Comes with Ed Belfour’s signed LOA.
The plaque is very nicely preserved with only a few tiny surface scratches that do not diminish its display. There are two Velcro mounting strips on the upper back of the plaque.
