Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction October 2016

With a resume that includes multiple William Jennings wins along with a pair of Vezina Trophies and a Stanley Cup, it’s no surprise Hall of Fame netminder Ed Belfour was also awarded the prestigious Calder Trophy as the NHL’s top rookie during the 1990-91 season. This award was presented to the Carman native in Dec of 1991 for his status as the “Gatorade Rookie of the Year”, as presented by Chicago Sports Profiles magazine. At roughly 15 ½” in height, the weighty glass display piece includes a beveled base with an image of a generic goaltender back-etched into the glass, along with the particulars including “To Ed Belfour Chicago Blackhawks December 3, 1991”. With just a few tiny blemishes to the glass, the display remains in gorgeous condition.
We should also note that a small piece of paper with “Ed Belfour” has been affixed to the glass base on the reverse, with this added component doing little to affect the aesthetics or display value.
