Item description
Phil Esposito, one of hockey’s all-time greatest goal scorers who set the bar very high indeed with his 76-goal output in ’70-71, used this Northland Custom Pro during the ’67-68 season, his first as a Boston Bruin. With a huge curve in the blade and lots of black tape forming a big handle/knob, the stick’s shaft is autographed by 17 including Espo, Sanderson, Bucyk, Hodge, Cashman and Cheevers. Others are Johnston, Westfall, Stanfield, Sather, Shack, Murphy, Williams, Awrey, Smith, Doak and Skip Krake, the latter helping to confirm the ’67-68 season. Minor bleeding to some of the blue ballpoint autographs but all are easily decipherable. “Esposito” is stamped to the front of the shaft while “Allen Eagleson” appears down by the black-striped celluloid accent tape. Some wear along the blade tape, a crack near the heel and a blade time crack are to note but the stick remains solid. From Alan Eagleson’s personal collection, with his signed LOA.
