Huge rendition of Wayne Gretzky in his Los Angeles Kings uniform is the work of renowned artist Samantha Wendell, a Los Angeles native who caught the hockey “bug” and got her start in sports art thanks to Wayne’s arrival on the west coast. Other than Gretzky, she has painted the likes of Robitaille, Nicholls, Taylor, Granato, Belfour, Orr, Bourque, and from the baseball world, Ryan, Rose, Mantle, Ruth, Gehrig and Dimaggio. Some of the stars themselves have collected her paintings. This one, done on canvas, measures a big 40” by 60” and depicts number 99 with his Easton aluminum stick and with his blonde locks curling out from beneath his Jofa helmet. Special, unique piece will require special delivery arrangements.
