Fantastic keepsake from the second of five Canada Cup tournaments which Alan Eagleson organized, this gold and diamond creation has “A. Eagleson” inscribed on the interior of the band, where “10KG” also appears. The face features the tournament’s half maple leaf logo surrounded by “Coupe Canada Cup”, with four diamonds below. One shank has a raised “19” with “81” on the other. The ’81 event was the only one which Team Canada did not come out on top, the Russians avenging their 7-3 round robin loss to the Canadians with a convincing 8-1 win in the winner-take-all one-game final at the Montreal Forum. Suiting up for Canada for the first time were the likes of Gretzky, Bossy and Bourque, who would have triumphant experiences in future Canada Cups.
