Formidable mementos from Bryan Trottier’s illustrious career include a photo of then U.S. President George Bush honoring the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins at the White House. The border around the 4 1/2” by 6 1/2” picture has been signed by Bush in bold black marker, as has a letter dated November 5, 1988, and congratulating Trottier on his 1000 game with the Islanders. It reads in part “As the Islanders engage in combat with the Washington Capitals tonight, Nassau Coliseum is filled with hockey fans who recognize one of our country’s great players. Your enthusiasm, team spirit, and unparalleled ability on the ice, make you a credit to your sport, and a role model for our young people to emulate and admire.” Well put Mr. Bush and nice signatures too! Framed pieces are in near perfect condition and will be accompanied by a LOA.
