Richard Brodeur’s 17-year professional career is best remembered for his heroics while backstopping the Vancouver Canucks during the 1980’s, but a decade earlier, “King Richard” as he was nicknamed in Vancouver, began his career with the WHA’s Nordiques. In fact, Brodeur wore Quebec blue and white for all seven of the team’s WHA seasons, wearing this relic part of the way. Showing extensive game use, the fiberglass mask with back plate and combination leather and elastic straps features a blue fleur-de-lys (which is a flower, by the way) and includes marks, scratches and small chips. It however remains in uncracked excellent condition and represents a terrific piece of Nordiques/WHA history. Brodeur helped his teams to over 300 wins during his pro career.
