Extremely scarce style of Cougars jersey was worn towards the end of Chicago’s final WHA season in ’74-75. Gold mesh jersey by Champion with a tag in the neck indicating size 46 was donned by right winger Mark Lomenda who contributed 16 goals and 49 points in his lone season with the Cougars. Everything is screened-on here including the waist, sleeve and shoulder striping. With a garter-style fight strap, the jersey shows nice game use; there’s a 1-inch team repair near the right elbow, another on the lower back close to a 1 1/2” slice that went unrepaired, some red paint transfer on the back and a couple of small marks on the right sleeve. Evidence of a nameplate removal here. Shoulder striping is nice with some cracking/peeling at the waist and sleeves to mention. Exceptional opportunity for serious WHA/jersey enthusiasts.
