Item description
In what was recently voted as the most exciting event in sports history, Jim Craig, Mike Eruzione and the underdog USA Olympic hockey team defeated the gold favorite Russian squad in the biggest upset in all of sports. They then continued on to defeat Finland for Olympic Gold. Who can forget the flag-draped celebration as goaltender Jim Craig was buried beneath a pile of jubilant teammates. This Northland Registered Pattern model wood goal stick used after the 1980 Winter Olympics by Team USA starting goalie Jim Craig has "CRAIG" factory stamped onto the shaft along with the pattern number "9182" and code "260560. The blade has been painted black over wraps of fiberglass and the knob is covered in blade "bulldog" tape. The stick is also signed "Best Wishes, Jim Craig" near the knob in blue Sharpie. This example was probably used by Jim while with the Atlanta Flames. Nice use with no glaring damage.
