Like some of the other all-time greats, Jean Beliveau often reached milestones or set records in grand fashion. Such was the case Saturday, February 26, 1966 in Montreal as the Canadiens edged the visiting Rangers 4-3. Jean's 2nd goal of the night was the game winner and came with just 54 seconds left. The goal on New York's Cesare Maniago was assisted by Jacques Laperriere and Bobby Rousseau and was the 379th of Beliveau's fabulous career, tying him with Ted Lindsay as the 3rd leading goal scorer in NHL history. An earlier goal, his 20th of the season, had given Montreal a 3-1 2nd period lead. Thanks mostly to Beliveau, the Forum crowd (15,195) once again went home happy. The superb Art Ross Tyer/CCM Habs game puck has rubber-crested logos both front and back with the date and "379 Buts" added to a piece of white tape that was applied to the back. Light game use with a small edge chip above the Canadiens logo. These vintage game pucks are highly desirable and this one is enhanced so much more by the details just mentioned. At the request of Mr. Beliveau we've had a plaque made for it. The winning bidder will have the choice of how to mount the puck if so desired. A LOA signed by Jean Beliveau will be included with this awesome memento.
