Item description
The Montreal Canadiens, in the last decade, have not had a season than comes anything close to 1992-93 when Patrick Roy led the Habs to the Stanley Cup. After eliminating Quebec and Buffalo, it was their victory over the Islanders in 5 games that earned them the team's 25th Prince of Wales title and a trip to the Cup finals against Gretzky's L.A. Kings. Roy was spectacular throughout the playoffs and captured his second of three Conn Smythe trophies. As a Canadiens' Vice-President, Jean Beliveau, like the players and other executives, received a personal miniature replica of the Wales trophy. It features a covered cup that is held by four hockey sticks which rise up from the 2-inch high wooden base. The names of the trophy and "Jean Beliveau" are engraved on one metal plaque on the base while another on the opposite side reads "NHL Champions - Montreal Canadiens - 1992-93". The trophy is in dazzling near mint condition with just a small section of tarnish on the edge of the coat of arms near the top. Jean Beliveau's signed LOA will accompany this gem from the Canadiens' last Stanley Cup-winning season
