Magnificent trophy represents hockey supremacy and marks the beginning of a tremendous Montreal Canadiens dynasty. The ‘75-76 Canadiens had a terrific regular season, chalking up 58 wins and 127 points as Guy Lafleur claimed his 1st of 3 straight scoring championships. In the playoffs, Montreal swept Chicago, then beat the Islanders in 5 games to set up a confrontation with the 2-time defending champion Flyers. The Canadiens' brand of firewagon hockey put Philadelphia's rough and intimidating style in its place as Montreal skated off with 4 consecutive victories and another Stanley Cup. Lafleur also shone in the post-season, notably scoring 2 game-winners against Philly. Montreal team executives, coach Scotty Bowman and the men who formed the nucleus of the team that was almost unstoppable the following 3 seasons have their names engraved on this fabulous silver-plated trophy. What a line-up of stars and what a supporting cast! In excellent condition with some scratches and silver loss, notably in and near the engraving on the barrel, the keepsake from another memorable triumph will be accompanied by a LOA signed by Montreal Senior Vice-President of Corporate Affairs at the time, Jean Beliveau
