Overtime Christmas Auction #9
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/5/2006
Cool vintage autograph book creation includes photos and a signature of Hall of Fame builder Lloyd Turner, best known in Calgary and western Canada. Turner organized a team and league in the 1920’s there and that led to the Calgary Tigers, Stanley Cup challengers in 1924 against the Montreal Canadiens. After stops in Minneapolis and Seattle, Turner returned to Calgary in the early 1930’s to reorganize the WCHL and help revive the Allan Cup competition. He was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1958 and died in 1976 in Calgary. Bold blue ink signature has a piece of scotch tape over it but displays well. As a little bonus, the reverse has a similar photo and signature of Calgary Stampeder all-star (’50-51) Sid Finney. Neat!
