Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2020

Spending the early part of his career with the Vancouver Maroons in the old PCHA, Frank Boucher would begin play with the Blueshirts in 1926, staying in Manhattan with the Rangers for over two decades to both play and coach. Originating from the incomparable autograph collection of E. Robert Hamlyn, we have a vintage photo signed by the three-time Stanley Cup champion. At 8” x 10”, the superstar is pictured in his New York uniform, with a gorgeous signature and lengthy personalization/notation added beneath including “Coach, New York Rangers 1945/46”. Boucher was selected for HOF membership in 1958, almost two decades before his passing, in 1977.
The signature remains completely bold and dark and displays beautifully, with typed information added to the reverse, along with “My photo Autog’d on Request, March 28, 1946” handwritten. The photo itself shows light wear, with a few minor wrinkles over a few corners.
