Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
First seeing use during the early part of the 20th century, we have a pair of antique hockey gloves that originate from the days of the NHA, circa-1910s. Fashioned from brown leather with the maker lost to time, wooden slats have been utilized along both the front and back of the wrist guard sections, with white leather inserts accenting the knuckles. Patches have also been added to each denoting heavy/lengthy use, with the leather still fairly supple. With just a few breaches to the fabric along the palm section of the left hand glove along with areas showing the exposed slats on each, the gloves survive in pleasing condition, ideal for the antique equipment collector.
