Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2019
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/26/2019
The only man in history to hold the offices of the US presidency and the Chief Justice of the United States, William Howard Taft began as a lawyer and worked through the ranks, later appointed to the bench before being named Solicitor General. Roosevelt's hand-picked successor, Taft easily defeated Democrat William Jennings Bryan to serve as the 27th President of the United States, in office from March 4, 1909, to March 4, 1913. We have a signed calling card from the Ohio native. Just under 2 ¾” x 4 ¼”, “The White House Washington” appears over the upper right, with Taft adding a beautiful large and flowing black ink fountain pen signature, with “March 3 1913” directly beneath. With no issues other than some very light toning, the card and signature display brilliantly, and await a quality frame and photo. Taft would pass away at the age of 72, in 1930. An LOA from JSA will accompany, along with an additional COA.
