Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Fresh off his first Stanley Cup victory in 2009, Sidney Crosby would cap his second best points season to date, with 109 points in 81 games during his 2009-10 NHL campaign. Hailing from his 5th NHL season, we have a stick used by Sidney Crosby in the third period of a 5-4 win over Buffalo, on Feb 1st 2010. A Reebok “Sickick” model, “S Crosby 2” appears in factory graphics, with a bar code/serial number adhered to the underside. Featuring the original black tape on the blade and white “ribbed-style” on the handle with handwritten “87”, the stick exhibits nice use, with wear to the taped section of blade, along with a few marks to the lower shaft. A hologram from Frameworth has been affixed to the lower shaft, with a matching COA to accompany along with an LOA from Classic Auctions.
We should note that a label has been affixed to the underside listing the stick’s previously mentioned history, along with the fact that Crosby scored a hat trick in this particular contest, with all goals scored prior to the third period.
