Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Only the second winner of the coveted Conn Smythe Trophy in 1966 - awarded to the player judged most valuable to his team during the Stanley Cup playoffs, Roger Crozier had previously been awarded the Calder Memorial as the league’s freshest face in 1965. We have the original plaque the NHL presented to Mr. Crozier in recognition of his winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league's rookie of the year. At roughly 11 ½” x 11 ½” (at the widest points), the wooden base with mounted metal plaque features beveled edges, with the textured metal surface reading “Calder Memorial Trophy” and “Won by Roger Crozier Detroit Red Wings 1964-65”. An embossed NHL shield logo sits along the top section, with a chain mounted to the reverse to facilitate hanging. With light wear to the wooden base and a few minor scratches to the plaque, the award survives in absolutely wonderful condition.
