Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/21/2017
The inaugural installment of the famed Canada Cup, the 1976 tournament featured six nations, with Canada defeating the Czech’s in a two-game final that took place in September. Hailing from the event, we have a stick that was issued to Pete Mahovlich, and it’s been team-signed by over 30 members of Team Canada. A CCM model with Canada Cup 76 graphics, “P. Mahovlich” appears on the upper shaft, with the front side sanded down for signatures, with each black marker example as dark as the day they were penned. Included are P. Mahovlich, Blake, Bowman, Clarke, Dionne, Gainey, Hull, Savard, Shutt, Sittler, Barber, McDonald, Lapointe, Perreault, Gare, Cheevers, Robert and many others. Surviving in amazing NRMT condition, the stick and signatures have been covered with a light coat of varnish, adding a nice gloss/shine overall.
